Morgan Wallen’s heart is pumping while bagging Big Missouri Buck, his first ” Missouri

Now that Morgan Wallen’s ‘Dangerous Tour’ has wrapped up, the 29-year-old country music star is taking some time to unwind. To that end, he and his cousin (and fellow songwriter) Jared Mullins recently joined the boys from Drury Outdoors on their first hunting trip through the woods of northern Missouri.

It was a success.

Wallen, Mullins and the Drury crew headed to the buck in the cold late fall weather and spent the day at a deer park. Both boys went home successfully.

Early in the morning, Mullins and company saw a couple of nice dollars cross their paths. After some patient waiting, he got a clear shot and dropped one.

Meanwhile, over in the stands from Wallen and Mark Drury, it was slower than slow. While this quiet time wasn’t ideal for the day’s purpose of getting a deer, it did allow for some conversation.

Morgan Wallen tells how he got into music.

“Yeah, my mom threw me on stage when I was three, in church… When I was five, I asked for a violin for Christmas, which was probably more violin because you know I’m in the.” church was since i listen to appalachian bluegrass and more.

“So I learned how to play that, but I learned how to play the violin classically, and not the violin. I quit after two or three years because I didn’t think it was cool anymore.

“All I did was play baseball, so I didn’t think that was cool at the time…but I played the piano, so I learned how to play the piano when I was seven, so I learned how to play the piano classically.

“I never really wrote songs, sometimes I wrote poetry and just random stuff, but I probably didn’t start writing until I was 19. And I remember hurting myself playing baseball and not being able to play college games, so I started writing songs and trying to get my feelings out, I guess.”

Morgan Wallen also spoke about how music went from a hobby to a profession.

“Yes, my mom actually signed me up for ‘The Voice,’ the TV show that was on there. I didn’t even know what it was, I’ve never heard of it, and I was like, yeah, I think I’ll go, you know, if you drive me to St. Louis, I’m actually ready to try it, and made it there, made it into the top 20 but i didn’t really know what, i wanted to sing country music but they wanted me to sing pop music so i just thought these people are really smart people, me think i will try.

“And I sang a couple of pop songs and then they finally let me pick a song and I picked a country song and they kicked me out. However, it was the best thing that ever happened. But I just met a few people through it and moved to Nashville in 2015. It was good for me.”

After a classic conversation about the deer stand, the focus turned back to the task at hand.

While Mullins got him a dollar that morning, Wallen and Drury saw nothing. They, in turn, packed up after lunch and set off for a new place.

As luck would have it, not long after boarding the second stand, a big Buck came out of the undergrowth. Wallen took aim, lined up the shot, and pulled the trigger.

POW! Got him.

Wallen landed a shot just behind the shoulder, sending him and Drury out to pursue the kill. His adrenaline went through the roof.

‚ÄúThis is my first Missouri stag and my heart is still beating pretty fast to be honest. It got bigger and bigger as we got closer…

That’s nice for me, you know, I don’t have as much time away or time in the woods as I’d like, so it’s nice that it’s turning out that way, I appreciate you all.”
